This was a recorded workshop held in Brooklyn, NY, on February 28, 2016 with panelists Andy Kolovos (Vermont Folklife Center), Selina Morales (Philadelphia Folklore Project), Lisa Rathje (Local Learning: The National Network for Folk Arts in Education), Cooperative Developer and Strategist Joe Rinehart, and UAW Local 2110 President Maida Rosenstein.
A workshop through New York Folklore’s Critical Folklife Forum series which was held at the South Oxford Space, Brooklyn, NY. These four video recordings allow you to view a folk arts forum meeting, which convened local and national leaders for panel presentations and town-hall-style dialogue, on the topic of “Democratizing the Arts Nonprofit Workplace.” The presenters approached this topic from different but intersecting perspectives. The forum was supported in part by funding from the Technical Assistance Consultancy Program of the American Folklore Society.
