Veena Chandra and Devesh Chandra Performance

On Sunday, June 9th, New York Folklore is the sponsor for the featured artists – Veena Chandra and Devesh Chandra performing North Indian music on sitar and tabla.  Their performance is part of a year-long program of Indian music, dance, and other forms of art from the Indian diaspora that is funded through an Our Town Place-Making grant from the National Endowment for the Arts.  Please contact New York Folklore for further information.

Each Sunday, the Schenectady Green Market will feature an artist or arts activity as part of the New York State Council on the Arts funded series “Art in Bloom.” The program aims to foster participation in the arts and to add to a sense of community. Art in Bloom will be Sundays from 10 a.m. to 2  p.m. in the City Hall/Jay Street area of downtown Schenectady during the Schenectady Greenmarket from May 23 to Oct. 15. Oct. 22  will be a finale celebration. There will be no Art in Bloom July 2 AND any Sunday with an extreme heat or heavy rain forecast.
