Farm and Field: The Rural Folk Arts of the Catskill Region

From the New York Folklore Archives! Farm and Field features photographs taken by Benjamin Halpern from 2010 to 2013. The photographs depict the footprint of agriculture upon the Catskill’s landscape.
Benjamin Halpern is a professional photographer who grew up in Livingston Manor, NY. His photographs and family story are featured in a New York Folklore’s Voices Article Agudas Achim: A Century of Friendship and Shared Memories of Jewish Life in the Catskills. Read the article here

The exhibit can viewed whenever the New York Folklore Shop and Gallery are open. New York Folklore is located at 129 Jay Street, Schenectady, on the Jay Street Marketplace pedestrian mall. The Gallery is open Monday through Friday, 10AM to 4PM,Saturday 10AM to 3:30pm and Sundays 10AM to 2PM. Parking in downtown Schenectady is free on weekends and after 5pm, and there is ample parking both in convenient LAZ lots, and on the street.
