The Culture, Community and the Classroom Showcase is a culminating event that provides opportunities to highlight the exciting programs that resulted from teacher/artist pairings in the k-12 classroom. The event is free to the public and the museum will be open to attendees for free following the program.
Come explore the folk arts educational experiences that are a result of the 2023 Culture, Community and the Classroom Workshops in Albany! This professional development workshop was supported by the Capital District Teachers’ Center. The workshop resulted in eight in-classroom experiences for the Capital District, engaging more than eight folk artists and k-12 classroom pairings. The traditional arts of the community, and their applications within the school settings, will be presented in two concurrent showcases, hosted by the Albany Institute for History and Art and the Roberson Museum in Binghamton.
