SUMMARY:Teaching Artist Master Class with Julia Guttierez-Rivera
DESCRIPTION:This Artist-Focused Culture\, Community\, and the Classroom special workshop (June 22) prepares folk and\ntraditional artists to bring their artforms into k-12 educational spaces. Artists will develop or refine artist\nstatements and portraits that introduce audiences to their practice within its authentic cultural context.\nThey will also learn techniques for engaging student inquiry around art and culture. CCC artists find the\nexperience fun and useful. Many have found new ways to share their traditions and use the teaching skills\nthey gain right away in schools and other settings\, such as museums\, festivals\, and other venues.
